Our teachers are dedicated to unlocking the potential within each child at Wilmot Learning Place – and committed the mission of Wilmot Learning Place.

Penny Ulrich
Our Lead Pre-School Teacher Penny Ulrich and her husband moved to Bradford in 1997, where they raised their two sons, Jakob and Mathew. Penny actually worked at Wilmot Learning Place for a year before having children and has most recently worked at The Children’s Center for Creative Learning in the preschool aged classroom. Penny loves being outside – walking, gardening, and bird watching – and this being her first summer off in a long time, she looks forward to being outdoors as much as possible and has many parks and local trails she hopes to visit.

Valerie Clausen
Assistant Pre-Scool Teacher Valerie Clausen has been with Wilmot Learning Place for seven years, and began as a substitute teacher in 2006 then moved to a part-time assistant position the following year. She chose to teach at the preschool/preK level because she feels that three to five year-old children are active, enthusiastic, fun-loving people who are excited about learning. “I am not one to sit still for long, so I enjoy the energy of the children – there is never a dull moment in the preK classroom! What she loves most about teaching is seeing the pride in a child’s face when s/he learns something new, or manages a frustrating social situation.

Rachel Breault
A resident of Warner since 2014, Rachel Breault is our Lead Pre-K Teacher. She is a graduate of Kearsarge and UNH with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Education with lots of teaching experience between Little Tree Education (a Montessori school near UNH), a teaching practicum in a first grade classroom in Lee at Mast Way Elementary, and assistant teaching at New London Elementary. She loves animals having grown up on a gentleman’s farm with cows, pigs, sheep, goats, etc. and looks forward to sharing this love with the Pre-K class. Miss Rachel will also be the Assistant Director of the NLOC summer camps this year and looks forward to working with and getting to know all of the students this coming school year!

Mrs. Tawna
Mrs. Tawna is our Assistant Pre-K teacher. She lives in Unity and has three children and four grandchildren. Her and her husband own an auto shop in Franklin and organize a nonprofit for kinship caregivers. Mrs. Tawna has taken care of her grandchildren since they were born and worked in both the Kearsarge and Unity school systems for the past five five years.
